In May 2009, Systemax bought the Circuit City brand at auction, and now operates it as an online retailer under that name. Few have heard of Systemax, but they also have purchased CompUSA and Tiger Direct in the past, and have done the same thing with those brands.

I'm not sure, but I think I heard somewhere a while back that another entity had purchased the Circuit City name for the purpose of creating an online retailer.

Diane, when I started getting those emails a while back I Googled them and found out much of what the other posters have said above. I did read that their customer reviews have not been good so far.
