President Obama threw out the first pitch at the All Star Game last night. Sports writers, political pundits and kinesiologists have all weighed on his throwing form. The bottom line, if you're scoring at home, is that he pretty much short armed the throw, getting the ball over the plate....barely. MSNBC's Morning Joe crew amiably dissected the pitch, stopping just short of saying, "He threw like a girl."
This isn't a major issue, folks, just plain fun. The best part of the ceremonial first pitch, at least in this house, was the White Sox jacket the president was wearing and, to be fair to the president, he probably found it hard to throw with the kevlar vest underneath that jacket. But, heh, Bush didn't have that problem. I just had to say that.
Here's a raw video from St. Louis' KMOV. Joe Buck did a nice respectful job of introducing the president.

The pregame festivities were great. I wish there would have been a better tribute to Stan Musial, the greatest Cardinal and one of the top baseball players of all time.

The lack of a Musial tribute is what I've been hearing all day.
