Mixed message on Harry Reid

A New York Times story headline today:  G.O.P. Eyes Tough Task-Winning Harry Reid's Seat.

Then in the middle of the story comes a bold type line:  Unpopular at home, the Senate leader builds a big war chest.

So what are readers to make of this?   Nevada voters don't like Reid.  But still, republicans will have a hard time beating him.  Because?  He has lots of money in his campaign account.

Nevada voters will vote for someone they don't like because he has lots of money to spend on commercials?

What a nutty world we live in.
