The climate bill is being debated in the House this week and republicans want the entire 946 page bill read before an action is taken.
This is being made to sound a ridiculous waste of time by some media types and the democrats, but in some ways it makes some sense. The bailout bill passed last fall became even more controversial when it was learned than many, if not most, members of congress didn't bother to read the thing before voting.
Here's an example of one such item in the climate bill that is ridiculous: It provides that the CO2 content of potato chips must be labeled. There was also a provision which would allow the EPA to 'mark' your home. There was a vote yesterday to strike that provision. Hopefully it was struck.

Why is it the Obama administration and the democrats in congress want to treat us all like children? People know best. Not the government.

"People know best." Good Ron, and keep that in mind as these same people elected and continue to support Obama and elected the large Democratic Majority in Congress; and continue to have dwindling faith in the Republican opposition.

Hmmm! Latest PEW poll shows independents moving away from Obama on most issues.

Boy, you really had to reach to find that little tidbit. Would that be the same PEW poll that finds only 23% of Americans self identifying as Republicans? The lowest number in 25 years? As you said, "the people know best."
