Concordia Seminary Professor Victor Raj and his wife Anie became U.S. citizens today in a ceremony at the Eagleton Courthouse in downtown St. Louis.
The room was full of new citizens ready to take their oath.
They came from Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Canada, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Pakistan, Kenya, India, Lebanon, Congo, Croatia, Poland, Belarus, Turkey, Kuwait, Ethiopia, Korea, Somalia and Russia.
As each person received their certificates of citizenship, U.S. District Court Judge, Rodney W. Sippel and the guest speaker, attorney Jane Dueker, posed for pictures with each person. Above are Professor Raj and his wife Anie.
A number of Concordia Seminary professors and staff attended and the Judge kindly allowed a group photo.
Quite the momentous day.
