A new search engine was unveiled today, one which hopes to give Google a run for its money.
Named Cuil, pronounced cool, the site has a very nice interface which lets you type in a search word or phrase as per normal. However, the Cuil people have set this up so that when you search for something they aren't keeping your IP address and then sharing your interests with advertisers or some such, like Google does.
I was interested in Concordia University Wisconsin at Mequan because of all the St. Louis sports reports coming from there now that the Rams have taken the campus as their training camp. After typing in Concordia University Wisconsin, up came the school's website instead of a long list of choices. The search results appear as horizontal boxes with explanation for each link as opposed to Google and Yahoo's vertical list.
Very nice.
