The news this morning on the death of Tony Snow was more than sad.
Several years ago Tony was the speaker at Concordia Seminary's annual fall lecture series and as such was a guest in our home for a light supper beforehand. It was one of life's pure pleasures to have been able to visit with him one on one and to watch how he interacted with others that night. He was congenial, able to speak on just about any topic, good natured and most of all...kind. Very public people are not always like this, especially when being put in a social situation which revolves around ordinary middle Americans.
He will be missed not only as a news person, but as a human being. Of his faith he left no doubt and so we leave him into the hands of our merciful God. May this same God watch over his family at this time.

One of the finest journalist we all had the pleasure to listen to.
