Netroots decide who's opinion media and who's not
Organizers of the annual convention of leftist bloggers, Netroots Nation, decided that any reporter from Fox News coming to cover the event would not be given ordinary press credentials, but would have to wear a tag reading: Opinion Media. Fox News would be the only media organization forced to do so since the netroots are determined to believe that Fox is totally unfair.
Maybe they missed Hillary Clinton and some of her campaign people come right out and say that Fox was the only news outlet which was fair during the primaries.
Anyway, this line really made me laugh out loud this morning: "The idea to label Fox journalists as opinion media is, in fact, not a new one. It’s been tossed around on blogs, and MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann also mentioned the idea on his show last summer."
Keith Olbermann? Hahahahaha. Sorry. No one is more of an opinionated media than Keith. It's just that the netroots like his opinion.
Does Fox care? A spokesman called the credentials affair a "moot point" since they would not be sending anyone to cover the Houston convention this weekend anyway.

I am not sure if this is lamentable or just funny. Does this group say anything about the fact that the "big three" are sending their main anchors with Obama to the Middle East, but they have not sent them anywhere with McCain? One could call that fairly unbalanced.

Great point on the 3 anchors.

The wacko left bloggers like Kos are just trying to influence and control the message just like anyone else involved in politics. Unlike everyone else, they are a few steps removed from reality.

Conservatives may control talk radio, but the liberal left does a better job on the internet/blog area. Yes, the liberal democrats have removed themselves from reality.

Your gonna believe who you want to believe. Olbermann? Much more n touch with reality than O'Reilly, Savage, Limbaugh, etc.
Clinton? Any chance HER opinion is biased Because SHE didn't get the coverage SHE wanted from the Other 3? Since when is Clinton your spokesperson for honesty and reality? (Can't call them the big 3 any more, doesn't Fox rating equal or surpass theirs?)

Rand, seriously. Do you watch Olbermann? More in touch with reality? It depends who's ox is being gored I guess.
Why are the old Big Three sending their anchors to report from Iraq and Afganistan while Obama is there?
Why would the netroots think any news outlet would be covering them anyway?

Rand - you're pretty out of touch if you think Olbermann represents mainstream thinking in America. What kind of home did you grow up in?
Oh, and the liberal three is a fine replacement name for the big three. We've always known they were big and liberal, but with viewership in the toilet they're not so big anymore.

If the 'three' ate liberal (I don't buy it) then maybe Olbermann is mainstream thinking cause the 3 combined blow Fox outta the water. I didn't say K.O. was mainstream, only that he's more honest than the conservatives I mentioned. What kind of home did I grow up in? Kingsbury Court in Collinsville until I graduated from CHS
('67). (BTW, across the street from Ron who posts here regularly, from infancy until graduation).
Parents? Independents leaning toward moderate Republicans. Altho Ron would know more about my dad's politics in his later years than I would.
Raised United Church of Christ, first St. John's, then Faith Chapel which isn't around anymore. Pat, anything else you think you need to know before you slam my family again?
And BTW, college years I was a Republican, active in the party to the extent that I was invited and attended Nixon's inaugural in 1968. Four years USN 1969-1973. Did you serve?

Rand, please give some examples where Olbermann is more honest thant the three conservatives you mentioned. You may feel that way, but let's seem some real examples.
