This could be a Ripley's Believe It or Not. Where was John McCain while Barack Obama was wowing the crowds in Berlin?
At Schmidt's German restaurant in Columbus Ohio. Really. At least it wasn't in Berlin Pennsylvania.
Truly, McCain should have taken this week off and had a nice vacation.

Having frequented Schmidt's many, many times, I can tell you that Senator McCain did at least take lunch off and had a nice meal.
Schmidt's is Ohio's home of the Bahama Mama, a spicy sausage that rivals the best brats in flavor.
