Southern Illinois peaches and plums!
The end of July sees all kinds of produce coming in. This week the Clayton Farmers Market saw local growers bringing tomatoes, potatoes, beans of all colors, egg plant, sweet corn, peppers, arugala, butter lettuce, squash, berries and on and on. The Red Haven peaches have a fragrance you can catch in the breeze from 50 feet away.

What ever happened to the farmers market in downtown Collinsville?
Doesn't seem like they gave it much of a chance.

As I recall from last summer, local vendors were difficult to get because the popularity of local farmers markets stretch the growers too thin and Collinsville got into the idea just a bit too late.
