...the political pundits and experts who all day long were touting the idea that Mitt Romney just might pull off an upset and come in ahead of McCain. They based this on what? Exit polls, focus groups? Yep, old Mitt's debate on Sunday just might have moved him ahead. Bah. That didn't happen, McCain's been leading by 6 points all night long and has been declared the winner.
On the other side of the aisle, the experts anointed Obama the winner in New Hampshire after his big win in Iowa, some were predicting double digit figures. Bah. That hasn't happened and it looks like Clinton is going to take the state fairly easily.
Why do we feel let down tonight? It's probably because all these talking heads and columnists and bloggers and pollsters were just so sure. I'll never believe them again.
One thing John Edwards said tonight is most certainly true and it's time we got back to reality. Only one half of one percent of the country has voted. 99.5 percent have yet to cast their ballot. Let's let the whole country decide, not just a tiny minority.
