Luck? I assume that was in reference to Tiger misplays; all part of the game.
But what won it for the Cards was pitching; Detroit score 11 runs, only 10 earned, in five games. an ERA of a fraction over 2.00. Cards scored at least four runs in 4 of 5 games. Tigers scored as many as 4 runs only once.
