Flight 93 on DVD

Today the movie about United flight 93 becomes available on DVD along with a 48 minute documentary entitled "Chasing Planes" the story of the real people on the ground that day including civilian and military ground control.

Like most Americans we were riveted to the story of how the passengers of 93 took over the plane and attempted to land it safely.  But, more than most, we paid special homage to everyone on that flight because most intelligence believed the terrorists planned to fly the plane into the Capitol or the White House, but probably the Capitol.  Our daughter was working at the Capitol in 2001.  To all of those on United flight 93 we have been actively greatful to them, awed by what they did and honor their sacrifice.  We shall never forget.

That being said, it has been, like Kevin Aylward said on Wizbang, difficult to even think about watching that movie, the emotions, we believed, would be too strong, too much.  Kevin has changed his mind after watching the film:  "a masterfully told story of what really happened on United Flight 93 from Newark to San Francisco the morning of September 11, 2001. It's raw, it's honest, and it is incredibly moving. It is also a movie made with the full cooperation of all of the families of the crew and passengers who perished on that flight."

Maybe what I will do today, along with other things, is go and find a copy of that movie.  It may be the least we can do.
