One good thing anyway

At last a confession we've needed to hear, even though it wasn't meant to be broadcast over the airways.  Louisiana Governor Blanco admitted to her press secretary, and caught on tape by CNN, that she did not call for federal help early on after Katrina hit, in large part because she was afraid looters would be jailed.  Paul of Wizbang, himself a displaced resident of New Orleans, has the details and the video feed.  By now everyone should know the federal government cannot come into a state without first being asked.  The asking part took way too long.

Where did ya get that twisted bullshit about the feds being handcuffed by the states? And riddle me this righty ... why has Brown quit, Bush accepted responsibility, and now Chertoff has been nailed sitting with his thimb up his ass for 36+ hours, hmmm righty? BRIN-IT-ON.

Horseshit.

Odd, how yesteday, the Governor admitted that "She Screwed Up"- don't go putting all the blame on the Feds!! The state/local gov. were the ones responsible for ensuring the proper preparations were made for those folks they forced to evacuate. "The NO mayor- thought 'the people could bring sandwiches with them as they evacuated- which should last them?!?" How ignorant. I'm sure if you had 24 hours to evacuate, and tried to secure your house, decide what you needed to take with- your utmost concern would not be- should I make PB &Jelly or ham sandwiches. There is no one person that is accountable for the whole mess- EVERYONE was accountable. ALso- people that want to be treated like adults, need to start acting like adults and take responsibility for their actions. Ironic how those of the same race, as those that want to cry 'the race card' say that is bogus- and that alot of the folks-just won't take responsibility for themselves.
