Headlines to ponder
In the "no kidding" department: Heavy use of alcohol dulls brain, SLU finds. St. Louis University researchers needed to do a study for this?
In the "wasn't he just found guilty" department: Jackson to change behavior, lawyer says. Hmmm, thought he was found not guilty of the behavior he's going to change. NY times requires a registration, but another version of this story can be found here.
In the incomprehensible department: Witness grilled by Cook at trial. haha, who will be sauted? East St. Louis vote buying trial continues.
In the why can't other towns be so lucky department: Subdivision works around old oak tree. The village of Clen Carbon breathed a sigh of relief as an ancient oak tree which was scheduled by a developer to be cut down to make room for a road, was saved. I would bet there are many residents in neighboring cities like Collinsville, Maryville, Troy who are wondering over their morning coffee how Clen Carbon was able to get Osborn builders back down when their own efforts fail so miserably. Scroll down this link to the Maryville post office paragraph.

re: the "Heavy Use of Alcohol Dulls Brain" article:
My understanding was always survival of the fittest. If excessive drinking kills brain cells, overindulging will kill the weakest cells, which you probably didn't need anyway.
